25 gram darts — for a slower, deliberate throw

25g suits players who throw slowly and let the dart do the work. The extra mass means less effort is needed to reach the board, and the dart holds its line well against a slightly loose release.

Traditionally this was a common weight in the pub and club game, and plenty of long-serving players have never seen a reason to move off it.

The trade-off

Heavier barrels are wider at a given tungsten percentage, so three darts occupy more space in the board. If tight grouping is your priority, a 95% tungsten barrel keeps the width down at heavier weights.
