22 gram darts — the professional's weight

22g is one of the most thrown weights in professional darts, and for good reason. It's light enough to move quickly through the air but heavy enough to hold its line, which makes it a sensible default for players with a reasonably brisk throw.

A great many tour players sit at 22g or within a gram of it. That's not a reason to throw it yourself — but it does mean the widest choice of barrel shapes and signature ranges exists at this weight.

Choosing within 22g

Once you've settled on weight, barrel shape is the next variable: straight barrels distribute weight evenly, torpedo and bomb shapes push it forward. Both are stocked here in 90% and 95% tungsten.
